Registration for the Spring 2024 semester of SMArt is OPEN!

Saturday Morning Art (SMArt), the WMU Art Education program's lab school, is accepting enrollments for the spring semester. We are planning to hold in-person classes in our studios in South Kohrman Hall. Designed for young people age 7 to 15 who enjoy art and wish to develop their talents, SMArt classes will explore a wide range of creative approaches, mediums, and techniques.

Seven weeks of art instruction culminate in an exhibition of student artwork.

Your children's safety is our primary concern, and we are continuing to take COVID-19 precautions. Classes will be limited in size, with a maximum of 16 students (or less), to allow for safe distancing in our artrooms. For the protection of your children, their peers, teachers, family, and friends, we ask that all students and all who enter WMU's buildings for SMArt, choose to wear masks. All SMArt Teachers will be wearing masks as well.

Registration Fee: The registration fee for seven weeks of classes is $45. Online registration requires payment with a credit card (MasterCard, Visa, or Discover). Registration is non-refundable.

Classes fill quickly, so please register as early as possible.

Saturday Morning Art is a seven-week curriculum. While an occasional absence may be unavoidable, enrollees are expected to attend the full class period every week. Please email the SMArt Coordinator, in the event that your child(ren) will be absent.

My child(ren) and I will follow SMArt's masking requirements while in WMU's buildings.

I grant SMArt permission to photograph/video my child while attending SMArt classes. Pictures/video taken during class will be used exclusively by the professional educational program.
